Post Surgery

Iyah has been through more than some of us will go through for the rest of our lives. I have a trooper on my hands. Iyah has had 2 bone aspirations (injecting a needle in her bones to pull out bone marrow), 5 hour major surgery resulting in 1 kidney/1 adrenaline gland loss, 7 cycles of chemotherapy with cycles consisting of 4 to 5 days of chemo each, 5 line placements with 2 being placed in her neck and 3 in her chest area, port placement, blood/platelet transfusions AND a transplant....those are just the procedures that were performed throughout this journey...not naming what has been endured throughout these procedures. YOU CAN'T BEAT GOD'S GIVING!! The Doctor shared with me that "HE DIDN'T EVEN THINK THAT THERE WAS A CHANCE FOR SURGERY" JESUS!!! GET TO KNOW HIM!! We still have a ways to go but look how far he has bought us. Our trip to San Antonio was for Iyah to endure her final round of chemotherapy. This 7th round of chemotherapy was designed to get rid of any bad cancer cells remaining in her system; unfortunately it wiped out the good as well. The chemotherapy was extremely harsh/hard that she had no defense to fight off infections which is why the Stem Cell Transplant had to take place. The Transplant was a success! The nurses greeted her with balloons and gifts saying, "Cheers to you!" The Transplant symbolizes, a Rebirth of her New Life! The Transplant also symbolizes rebuilding; renewing and a complete restoration of stem cells! We've had some tough days after the Transplant with her reactions to the treatment, But Iyah made it through by God's Strength, She's a fighter! The next step will be to resume her treatments in Austin. She'll begin Radiation, then bone scans and more tests to determine if there was any cancer left behind. She will also have to endure 6 months of meds. I was worried because I had to leave my job to care for Iyah but because we serve such a merciful GOD...I stepped out on faith!!! Iyah is currently in the healing process and is doing quite well. Thanks for visiting Iyah's page and know that this was no accident that your here...it was fate. MY GOD!! Thank you all for sending up all the prayers!! You can't help but PRAISE HIM!!!! BE BLESSED ALL!!!
